1. How do I place someone in your facility?
A. You must fill out an application & contact us for a tour. Medical information will need to be obtained from the prospective patients physician or hospital discharge planner.
2. Does the facility accept Medicare and/or Medicaid are they different?
A. Yes, Vestal Nursing Center is a approved to accept Medicare, Medicaid as well as other private insurances. Medicare is a federally funded insurance progam that pays for some health services for people over 65. Medicaid is a state and federally funded welfare progam designed as a supplement when an inidividuals private resources has been exhausted,
3. What types of rooms are available for the residents?
A. We offer private rooms as well as semi-private rooms.
4. Can the residents/family members bring in personal belongings/decorations for the resident's room?
A. We encourage this to help individualize each residents stay and to promote a home-like atmosphere.
5. Can pets come to visit at the facility?
A. Yes. Current shot records are needed prior to visiting. Pet Visitation guidelines.
6. Are Beauty shop services offered?
A. Yes. Beautician services are offered 4 days per week by licensed Beauticians.
7. Does your facility belong to any recognized organizations?
A. Yes. New York State Health Facilities Association.
